Dettson has launched a revolutionary product with the Chinook Compact gas furnace. This development is a logical follow continuation to our Chinook gas furnace line up which offers inputs from 15,000 to 120,000 BTU/h for both the new construction and replacement market
Our Chinook gas furnace family offers the smallest footprint in the industry as well as other benefits which include:
- 10 years warranty on parts for residential applications
- 5 years warranty on parts for commercial applications
- Limited lifetime warranty on heat exchanger for residential applications
- A perfect fit to the multi-family segment: condos and apartments from 50 to 150 square meters (500 to 1500 square feet)

In order to increase the comfort benefit provided by the modulation of our Chinook gas furnace, we developed an outdoor unit named Alizé, which offers variable speed cooling. This combination ensures the benefits of a variable speed forced-air system for a 12-month period instead of the heating period only.
Our outdoor unit which provides variable speed cooling is also an air-to-air heatpump , thus able to provide heating and cooling in combination with our Chinook gas furnace as well as with our Supreme electrical warm air furnace. The Alizé provides a very small footprint which is welcomed for the backyard, as well as a super silent operation for quieter afternoons on the deck.
Dettson is the first HVAC manufacturer to use a side-discharge only approach for residential central systems.

The Smart Duct System® was designed with the builders’ requirements in mind as well as the building science community’s input.
The right airflow is as important in considering the load per room as the BTUs. The Smart Duct System provides a leakage of 5% or less when properly assembled. Our vision behind this system is called HVAC in a box, allowing the builder eliminate bulkheads and added expenses, while optimizing floor plan designs.
